Nile monitors by Rob Faust

King and Greens monitor biology

The Biology, Husbandry, and Health Care of Reptiles," by Lowell Ackerman

mertensiella 2 + 3 /mertensiella

Re: monitor book

I need to buy some of those books. Every time I decide to buy a book I spend the money on mice, rats, or enclosures.

Re: monitor book

No problem Big George. It has been my experience monitors are far less docile than most popular lizards. Tegu, and Iguanas have better attitudes than monitors. I always tell anyone getting any animal attitudes can change so never bet the house on the "tameness" of your animal. Love them whether they let you hold them, look at them, or puke at you then defecate and flee into their pond. How ever the smaller the monitor the more likely you will keep your digits should they attack instead of running.

Brandon did you finish it? I still have not. I am too busy reading sections of it over and over and over again, just to read it cover to cover.

Ed many of those books I don't have. $70 dollars a book gets expensive. I get what I can but like you feeding my reptiles comes before getting more books. I have a list twice that long for books, reptile and behavior related.
