Re: Morning Coffee and nap with my monitor.
I got him as a baby and he would bite me and just be a grump in general. Hes like a dog now. He curls up with me all the time. They are my favorite lizards. They look like dinos and have so much personality. I highly recommend one Adrya!!! I'm building him a huge enclosure right now, but he is out a lot of the time I am home, just lounging or burrowing in my bed.
X-Factor...is that gun in your pic? Guns are not a problem with me, just curious because its hard to tell....?

Re: Morning Coffee and nap with my monitor.
HAHAA, well, my mom is jewish and my dad is episcopal. Its an odd mix, so my parents never push any religion on us. I don't really follow an organized religion, but I appreciate others beliefs and will never judge one for theirs, unless they try and act superior because of it. I do however, like jewish food. My Dad's family is deep southern so I like souther food too.
IN the jewish faith, children are always jewish if their mother is. The fathers religion doesn't matter.

Fake glock....HAHAAA
I don't own any guns, but I'm sure a fake one would scare someone off just as well as the real one. I should look into that....
But I have a rottweiler too, so my house is pretty well protected.....LOL

Re: Morning Coffee and nap with my monitor.
Nice!!!
I've been taking Krav Maga for a few months so I'm quite confident in my ability to protect my wussy roommates. LOL
And for real, for real....Most people are afraid of huge snakes, so just having one around my neck, would scare a lot of the gang bangers around here....I live next to a neighborhood with the largest concentration of MS-13 gang members outside of East LA.
Not scared...

MAJOR kudos on the Krav Maga.... I can concur with the snake fear too....helps keep the neighbors away from us.
No offense, but I WOULD be scared if I lived there....you SHOULD be. MS13 is NOT a joke...have you researched them at all?

Re: Morning Coffee and nap with my monitor.
yes. I also used to teach a bunch of them Photography at a Latin Youth Center when I lived in a shady part of D.C. Which since has been gentrified and is safe now. Normally, they don't mess with anyone who doesn't mess with them. They also prefer to stab as opposed to shoot. On News Years day, 3am, the first murder of 2008 in Fairfax County, VA, happened on the dirt soccor field behind my backyard fence. The guy was stabbed 13 times. It was gang related.
I'm really not worried about them. I would be worried if I was in the gang or one of the many undercover cops that hang around. The library is next to the soccor field and I go there all the time. The worst thats has happened is I've been whistled at and called, "Mammacita". I usually just smile and say hi, and walk away. You can tell that they are apart of the gang because they wear baby blue and white colors. Those are the colors of the El Salvadorian Flag. Lots of El Salvadorian Pride around here.
I live next to Culmore, Falls Church, VA. Look it up. Lots of news stories about gang activity. They featured the neighborhood on a National Geo Channel Special on MS-13.

Long as you know...I couldn't live around that. I'd shoot first. Give me a knife and well, it's go time. They are creeping down here in LARGE numbers as well...Waldorf MD is a VERY dangerous place these days...especially after dark. Here they wear orange and white...

Re: Morning Coffee and nap with my monitor.
So then just out of curiosity (I'm always curious about others' faiths) do you believe one over the other, Judaism or Christianity? I saw you identify yourself as Jewish (and read your rant about that other forum, that's sickening).

Re: Morning Coffee and nap with my monitor.
hrrmmmm, I tend to identify more with the Jewish faith when it comes to community sort of interactions. There are more jewish people around me and I have found it to be more liberal than the other practicing religions in my area. Plus, I don't see much of my father's family and spend a lot of time with my mothers jewish family, attending Passover dinners or Seder dinners. I have no qualms with Christianity, I am just not as exposed to it. But in all honesty, I'm a scientific person and have yet to follow religion. I do however enjoy learning about different cultures and religions, partaking in customs as a learning experience and eat the different foods. I have a friend who attends a Methodist Church in DC. The service is in English, Spanish and Swahili. The Pastor and other church leaders are from Kenya. I go to congregate with them because I have become friends with them. They love it when I bring my dog, saying, God loves all creatures. They also have asked me to share with them, in front of everyone, the traditions of Jewdiasm. Though I do not pray, I enjoy being around such nice and loving people of such diversity. They have never made me feel bad for not being religious and they appreciate my hunger for knowledge and appreciate my views as I appreciate theirs. I am very appreciative of what they have done for the community and my friend, who lives in Section 8 housing, on welfare.
sorry for the monitor unrelated talk......

Re: Morning Coffee and nap with my monitor.
Cool. Both my parents were raised Christian, as was I. I consider myself Christian, though not devout, as I also am more logic-based than faith-based, which clashes with religion sometimes. But I guess I've felt best about not following a strict sect, but rather finding my own sensible answers. I'm always curious about what others have to say about their beliefs.
