heating problem
i just picked up the new bosc today but the heat is no where near what is has to be in only on about 75 not 120+ is it that the bulb is two far away from the bottom or is it that a 60w is to small for it? some 1 please help.

Well That Depends On The Size Of Your Cage ,height And Do You Have An Undertank Heater???

i have a 29 inch heat mate at 1 end with a red 60w bulb for night and a 60 blue heat light for day and the other end a 60w basking bulb. the viv is 6.5x3.5x3.5

Also this animal might be sick from being in such low temps for so long. Id say just up the wattage to a 100 wat or 160 and just monitor it until its in the right range.

i agree with Nick. also, the blue blbs arent good. they mess up ur reptiles eyes. if u want good heat id say a 75w Phillips flood light would work best. before i got my megaray i used a 65w one of these and it heated my beardies 4x2x2 tanks basking spot to 111 or so. a 75 would probably bring ur heat WAY up

yupp! blues can get bad with the eyes. red should be cool and everyone else got some good info

I use a red bulb, and my sav does great with it! I agree with the higher wattage idea. Good luck!

remember the whole cage should have an ambient of 82-86F. only the basking spot should be 130F+. simply raising the basking spot can achieve this.

thanks people took all your advice and it worked well. i raised the basking spot and got a 100w basking bulb and now viv is perfect, had her checked and she is very healthy and eating fine
