cold monitor
my 8 inch savannah monitor i got yesterday likes to stay on the cool side of its enclosure nearly all day the basking temp is at 130 farenhight it has a heat mat and reflector bulb on the hot side and no heating equiptment on the cool side my tank is 3 foot he has eaten i hope this is enough info for someone to help me

Plus, you might want to give it a couple of days to settle in before you worry about not basking and stuff like that, if that is what you are asking about. Unless you observe really weird behavior.

Depends, at first, most newly acquired reptiles want to feel safe first, warm and full second. It shouldnt last too long though, just give it time and privacy for a couple of days, it should come around.
