Thanks, I am working on the humidity problems but I really try. I am going to get a video of his next feeding hopefully. He packs down 3-5 mice in less than 2 minutes usually

Pork,
Where did you get that stock tank? I wanna get one for my uro but I havent been able to find one that big. T looks great (he's getting big!) but is T a she monitor or a he monitor? Sometimes you call him/her a him, other times a her so I wasnt sure...

Thanks Cruider and Adrya. I got it at a Tractor Supply Company store locally. Being in Nebraska Its not hard to find one anywhere. Its the 4' by 2' but the other ones I say were 6' by 2' and 8' by 8' round. T is a boy monitor. I always get confused. I just got back from a good 6 hours of working so I expect to make many mistakes today besides calling him a her. I really want to know(no one has answered yet) if clay dirt and sand is ok for him and if it will hold burrows. I should really do a comparison shot later on from when he was small to now.

that should be plenty of soil
with that much dirt your humidity problems may be over. if not i would suggest covering most of the top of T's cage. what wattage are your bulbs?
and almost forgot, clay!
really depends on the clay. round here the clay is thick enough to do pottery with. it's redish orange and so thick i wouldn't bother, and mixing would be difficult due to it's consistency. it hard enough to excavate with a shovel. even my argus might have a hard time with it. i'm not sure of the soil types where you are at. but if it sounds like what we have here in nawf kakilaky, i'd just stick with the topsoil.
luckily i will be moving soon and the soil towards eastern nc is more fine with a sand mix. i'm gonna experiment a little with it and let ya know if it works out.
i gotta find some loam for the ackies as well since AJS brought it up on another post

I should post pics of it now. He has 200 lbs of soil in there(about 9" I think) and a half a bag of sand(so about 25 lbs) and it plain top soil. Matter of fact, the camera is going to go to work now.

Nice pictures. How do you maintain the humidity levels in the enclosure?
Cheers,
Michael

I love those outdoor pics - T looks so cute sat amongst the green grass. Your pic is good too, Jake
When I put Tiny in his new enclosure he had a lot more soil than he had before and the humidity shot up beautifully.
