Savanah monitor rescue (need help)

my freind is giving me his savanah monitor petco size (18 inches). he doesn't have the time or space for it. I know basking spot of 130+degrees and a wide temprature gradient, multiple hiding places ample space...... I have a 75 gallon tank for know. will top soil work good? cypress? 60-70%humidity for savanah? feed daily crickets with vitamin supplement and mice? any extr sources or help would be appreciated
