I have a ball python, and i'm looking for the perfect bedding for him. So far i've used paper towels when i first got him i quarntened him for mites and ticks and stuff like that. Then I got some astro turf... He seems not to like that he keeps trying to crawl under it ? so I was thinking of some sort of subtrate that he could burrow himsel into since he like doing that?
Thank in advance for any replies.

Does he have a couple places to hide in the enclosure other than under the astroturf? If so, you could consider trying cypress mulch or aspen shavings.

i totally recomend aspen or cyprus (or a mixture of the 2)

i use the mix for my royals too!

definitly give them a hide box. i noticed that mine dont really burrow at all, but they sure do stay in their box till night time!

Sounds good! I do however have a hide box for him but i think he likes it under the astro turf better, I know there are a few different woods or subtrates not (NOT) to use. Thanks for the advice guys!
