This is 2 out of my 13 burms. "Lucy" and "Gemini" doing what nature intended...lol. Lucy is 16 ft and weighs 200lbs. Gemini is 9.5 ft and weighs 30lbs. Quite the size difference...but he does'nt seem to mind.
Lucy was shedding and Gemini chased her all over the room until she was finished and well...you know what happened next...right?
Lucy is the tamest and most lovee of all my burms. Everytime you walk into her enclosure she cruises over to you to say hi, then tries to sit on your lap...like thats even remotely possible...hehe
BTW, no! the heater in the pic doesnt get even close to hot enough to hurt my babies...

Wow. what a great pic!
Now....when it comes to breeding snakes, size DOES matter.....LORI_snakesRule just lost one of her favorite BCI's, ANGUS, to a breeding accident in which he was crushed by the larger female....and with a suze difference like the one you've got going here, you might want to keep an eye on them...just a suggestion, I'd hate for you to lose that pretty male to a breeding mishap...

What pretty babies they are. After looking at Lucy, I really don't think Murray is fat at all. Just big boned, like Lucy. They are really nice snakes.
13 burms, huh? wow!

I dont worry much about size because of the size of enclosure they are housed in. It is a 12 ft x 12 ft room and he can move out of the way much easier instead of being in a cage where he can get smooshed. But ill take it into consideration. I always use smaller males because they seem to have more pep than the larger ones....and not to mention Gemini is my only green and my other female was taken
My burms range in size and age from 9 years and 16 ft, all the way down to 5 mos. and 2.5 ft.
I have, starting with the largest
0.1 16 ft normal(Lucy)
1.0 14 ft normal (Mr. Crowley)
0.1 11 ft albino (Chevelle)
1.0 9.5 ft Green(Gemini)
1.0 8 ft normal (Vulcan)
0.1 7 ft albino het granite (Starla)
1.0 7 ft Granite (Weiland)
1.0 5ft albino green (Pharroh)
1.0 4 ft het granite (Albert)
1.3 2.5-3ft Normals (little guys)
They are all a handful, no doubt.

Hey Kolleen, Do you house all your big burms in the same room? If so, how do you handle feeding time? I'm building separate enclosures for my burms right now because my male latched on to to my big female when I returned her to the room because of the smell, and he had just finished his chicken maybe an hour before her! I try to feed all of them in separate rooms at the same time, but since then they get a bath before returning to the snake room.

awsome! did you say those two are housed together? I know Lori recently lost one of her really nice BCI because of size difference (the difference was not very big at all, either) .
P.S. I like big women too! -Juggalo

Actually, I absolutly do NOT house my snakes together other than for breeding. Its way to dangerous! Lucy just gets the big room because she is HUGE!! All my other burms are housed in appropriatly sized cages....but occasionally they do get to cruise around in lucy's room just for fun, but only at leaset 4 days after they have been fed and bathed. I had 1 time a baby ball attacked another one, though it did not seem hurt, and ive never housed 2 snakes together since...except when breeding. Gemini does not live in there anymore...but I guess he never did...he was just takin care of buisness...dananapowpow
Juggalo, its KOOL you like big women...lol(snakes Im asuming)hehe
BurmeisterDeano, Kool collection!!!
My burms are only a FRACTION of what I own...but they have to be my favorites!
Thanks for the replys all...and if ya want to see more, just let me know...

Those are some nice burms there. I really like the black and silver colors, very sweet looking. Size can matter, as Lori did lose one of her favorite, Angus, during breeding by the bigger female. Just keep an eye on them.
