Did you pick this pretty little guy up somewhere around your home? I know they are native to Austrailia, but I can't remember if they occur in Brisbane or not.
Go look at an atlas...right?

I am told they can be rather snappy and untrustworthy. I can attest that when I got her, she was feral, but she is much calmer now and although she may sit quietly on me and even seem to seek out my company, she will still strike at anything else that moves while I hold her.
It's funny, but when I put my other babies away, they are happy to slither back into their homes and curl up, however, when I attempt to put Jade Dag away we end up playing catch as she refuses to return to her home and instead, keeps trying to climb me. After a successful door closure, I have to leave her as it is pathetic watching her trying to get through the glass and back to where I am. Perhaps she is thinking of the day when she is finally big enough to eat me. :P
I realised I wrote her birthdate as 03/11/03. That's 3rd November 03, so she is still a bub.
The fun has started now with her habitat. Although most caresheets say she needs no more water than a large bowl, I have found that she LOVES water and after I swapped her bowl for a trough she became visibly happier. She will spend all her time inside a submerged log in the trough if I didn't fish her out for a cuddle now and again.
I have obtained a tank and today I start work on it. I hope to create a water feature below, with filtered water and fish and a shelf with hide and heat above.
