How odd... my dumeril's did the same thing just the other day. His teeth from the right side of his jaw were embedded in the bottom of his throat, took some careful work to get them out - but he seems fine now.

Man thats weird. Anyone with experience care to start a post in an appropriate forum of some tips/how to of what to do when presented with this problem? Could be quite helpful for those who have never dealt with it to get some ideas before being faced with it.

Thank you all for the well wishes. He seems to be doing just fine. I'm going to give him ample time to heal before feeding him again. He's a chunker so he isn't going to lose much weight from not eating for another month....

Actually, Bry, I think Bobbi is a Coastal or a Coastal cross. He is much too large to be a Jungle.

SoPure, the best I can say is that implements are no good for this. You basically have to use your fingers to pop it back out CAREFULLY. Donnie had to feel along the jaw and move the skin off the teeth first (then Bobbi chomped down on him). The Gib reached in while Donnie held his head to pop the jaw out. uuugh

Here's what gets me: He didn't strike and constrict the rat. I sat there holdong it for him while he slowly inspected it front to back. So I lay it on the perch and walk away. He moves, the rat goes 'splash' into his water dish. I sigh and move on to the other feedings. When I return to get the rat out of the water I see that he had already fished it out himself.
