How much would you pay....
for a WC female that is about 1600 grams? Nothing special about it, just a normal. I was looking into getting one, but the guy wants an offer and I don't want to insult him with a small amount.
Thanks!

Wild caught what??
I think I wold rather have a CB and leave all the ones in the wild out there where they belong. I hate to see wild creatures taken from thier natural habitat and put into captivity unless it is a rescue/rehab type thing. And then I would do my best to make sure it returned back if any way psosible.

im guessing your talking about a ball python, cause no one really refers to many other snakes size that way. Except ball pythons.
1600 grams, wild caught?
if well established, maybe 80 bucks
if recent import (which I doubt at this time of the year)
maybe 35-40 bucks.
but the real question is. How much is it worth to YOU?
real monetary value is irrelevant when you really need the animal.
If your just wanting a adult ball python, then find the one that really catches your eye.
If this is just one that you saw advertised and thought "oh , it would be cool to have one of these" perhaps you should keep looking.

for a WC Royal... with the vet bills that would more than likely ensue, the snake should be free! There are plenty of CBB Royals out there, those I would pay for.

Personally, I dont care for Ball Pythons, so I would pay nothing. But this time of year for a WC female that size, I would venture to guess about $50-$70 since she has probably been in country for several months. That is ot saying that even if she HAS been in captivity that long that she has been treated for parasites or has eaten. During peak time of year, I can get them for about $10 or so. It all depends on availability. If he bought it from a pet shop, he probably paid like $100 for her LOL.
I assume you plan on immediately breeding her based on the fact you gave us her weight. Please dont forget to take her to a vet and get her checked/treated for parasites and be sure she is quarantined. Don't want any nasties in your collection

WOW....sorry to spark all the contorversy. I was looking for a female that I could breed for this season. I didn't realize that everyone would get so testy about it. All I have are CB balls, and for me to get to the show this weekend is useless (White Plains). I have to agree with DavidBeard though. You have to bring in SOME new blood every once in a while.
I'm sorry if no one agrees with me, but as long as it's still legal to import, people are still going to buy them. I'm not doing it just to get a cheap animal, I'm doing it for new blood.
And as far as vet bills go, I work at a veterinary laboratory with plenty of doctors and free service, so money is no option with vet bills.
Sorry to post a question that ticks so many people off.

I don't think anyone was ticked off - Question was asked, answers were given.
I think the bottom line is the concern of the health of the snake - no one wants to see you buy a snake that could have problems, have you go through the anxiety of treating it IF it does have med probs, just to have it die on you.
Good Luck with her

unless its a WC that has been in captivity for several years, dont count on it breeding this year.
Many wc ball's require several years to be completely and totally acclimated.
some take less time then others, but if your wanting to breed this year, you may want to go with a CB animal.
Good luck.
