Snake adoptions???
Really???
j/k
You go girl!
They need homes and quite typically, they are better suited for many people as many health issues have been addressed, or should have, such as deworming, free from RIs and in general better all around health than the typical pet store animals.
The majority of us here that do or have done rescue work, wil urge adoptions over sales as it helps place good animals that need a home.
Sure, you may not get the entire background, or an exact age for about 99% of the animals from rescues, they may not be ultra top noth due to bite injuries, burns etc, but unless you are planning high end breeding project, it doesn't matter

I have been doing rescue/adoption work for over 20 years. If it weren't for people who are willing to take in adoptions, I would be stuck with caring for thousands of reptiles by now...far fetched? yah probably...I would have realistically just reached my limit many years ago and as a result thousands would have had to just die or take their chances elsewhere...but that's just me...same goes I'm sure for many many others. Adoptions are AS important to the unwanted pet problem as are the rescues. I adopt some too when I have space and don't seem to have an influx of rescues coming in. Some of these big breeders sell indescriminatly and are catering to the impulse buyers and creating a large part of this problem...so as long as there are available adoptions, and all you are looking for is a common ball python, why pay them and further fuel the problem? By all means! Take an adoption...give it a great home! Just don't get caught taking adoptions and selling them ...this is a horrible practice that a few have been busted at.

DON'T PLAN ON BREEDING ANY SNAKES...I just like 'em
Do any of you know what a 3 foot ball would need as far as cage size? I was planning on a hatchling so I want to be sure I have the correct size enclosure...

I have my big male in about a 40 gallon (not sure on exact volume) that is 3 feet long and around 14" thick and tall.
Balls typically stay small in comparison to BCI/BCC so they really don't need a huge set-up.
Just enough room for them to strech the majority of their bodies out and room for the furnishings, such as water, hides, etc.
