Ball Pythons
After reading everything here and considering everything you all have said I have decided at this point to get a ball python, since it looks like a python (I love their faces) is a bit fat (which I like) , doesn't get large, and is fairly docile.
All I need now is a good caresheet describing temps/humidity/substrate/cage size etc--thanks for all your help so far everyone!

ok I found the caresheet here at RTB---sounds pretty simple--being there is no talk of uv lights I guess they aren't necessary--just day/night cycles?

I think we all are going to point you to the RTB caresheet, so I won't repeat where louise and eddie indicated. Ball pythons are great snakes and rather inexpensive these days due to the overwhelming supply. Good luck with your new snakie!!! ...and nope, no uv lights necessary!

Only for heat and day/night cycles
No UV needed unless you just want to see in the tank well, or display type set up

Yeah like the corns---no need to sepnd a fortune (between 40-50 for a bulb) for highnoons--for the cornsnakes I use neodynium for day and then a moonglow for nightheat...sounds like I would even have to buy much ---I have so much crap for reptiles and spare cages.
I want to see if they have anything different. I saw something called pastel balls..ever hear of them? Also have any of you heard of Don Hamper reptiles? I want something captive born....

Pastels and any other 'morph' are going to run much more expensive than a normal. We've heard of Don Hamper, he sets up at a couple of the shows around here. | |
