New Here...Some Retic Pic's..
Hi, I'm a new member here and I thought I would get started by posting some pic's of part of my collection. Some of the pic's are of poor quality because I used a phone/ digi-cam to take them, sorry. I hope you enjoy them anyway..
This is my female normal retic that I bought from Bob Clark in January of this year. She is now just over a year old and near 9 feet in length.
This is the same snake after eating a 7 pound rabbit
This is my het. albino dwarf, also from Bob.
This is my female tiger retic. She's just over a year old and near 10 feet in length. This is her after eating a 7 pound rabbit.
This is my 13 foot normal male retic that I adopted through the Chicago Herp Society. He was about 9 feet in length when he arrived last December.

Welcome! Nice snakes! I really enjoyed the first pic especially. Like Schatzie said, nice showing of iridescence. have you had a full grown retic in the past? I realize you've aquired all these ones in the last 12 monthes, what are you going to do when they are full grown? You must have a mansion!

It depend's on the snake. I feed whenever they finish the last meal. The huge meal's will usually last 2 weeks. The large male is fed every week. I usually give him a 7-8 pound rabbit and a couple of colossal rat's.

What am I going to do when they are all full grown? I'm going to roll around in rabbit bedding before handling them . Why would I need a mansion to keep retic's? If you're trying to say that I am going to need space, yes, I am aware of that. If you're are trying to imply that I might not know what I'm doing, don't waste your time. If I didn't have the capability to keep larger snake's, I don't think my local herp society would have allowed me to adopt the larger male; after all, he was confiscated from someone who didn't care for him properly.
Thank you for all the compliment's everyone.

well since your so qualified and experienced, why exactly are you feeding the large male so much? trying to shorten his life by extending his length? tsk tsk tsk... i suggest you read up on husbandry of large snakes, feeding a 7-8 lb rabbit every 3 weeks would be more then sufficient, not every week with a few rats for desert...way way way to much to fast.

It would be hard for me to get used to the eyes on Retics - they are so unusual, kinda spooks me out! How is their temperment?
BTW - you must know Ed_R from here too?

oh man... we need a house, LOL We want to eventually get a retic, but we don't have the space for one right now. The Ornate monitor is hogging it all!
Beautiful snakes you have. Retics are amazing with the amount of food they can take down and as fast they can digest. One would think they should be a Morelia with that kind of digestion and intelligence!!

How many retic's do you own? How often do you feed your retic's? If you had any experience at all, you would know that keeping a potentially deadly snake well-fed is of great importance. Would you want to handle a hungry adult retic? I know that I wouldn't. Also, a care sheet can offer some advice, but we also have to learn to think for ourselves.
They all have great temperament's.
