Welcome Sammy. Nice looking retic. I also got my male retic from Bob Clark. He is just a youngster though, Shade over 3 ft. But he has got a big attitude. But he is slowly calming down. Im down to only getting bit a couple of times per handeling. LOL.

Thats interesting. Cuz from what I've read just one appropriate sized prey item per 7-10 days is right for my BCI. What other snakes besides retics can just eat like crazy? Are there others?
From the sounds of it, you can count on my never having a retic. I'll stick to my BCI and anything smaller!

If you're are trying to imply that I might not know what I'm doing, don't waste your time.

I wasn't implying anything brother, I was simply pointing out a fact; You have aquired several Giant snakes in a very short amount of time. I do not know anything about you, But I have seen it too many times where someone who is just starting out in herpetoculture obtains multiple burms/retics/annies/other in a very short time without realizing what they are geting into. That was my question.... "have you kept a full grown retic in the past". I did not assume that you haven't, that is why I asked the question. As far as the mansion goes... No, you wouldn't have to have one, lol. But for almost any "middle class" house, this would simply be way too many snakes of that size. I did not mean any offence brother. I'm just very weary of seeing anyone with that amount of retics, and it did come off as you were just getting started in herpetoculture.
I do agree that that is too much for that perticular snake to eat.

Sopure Julius is right, I believe they could swallow a VW Beetle and in a week still be hungry! The only Boid with the metabolism of a King Snake!

They are definately eaters. My little girl Sue eats 4 large rats every 7 days. They leave a nice lump in her which disappears after 2 days. She's always at the front of the cage looking for food whenever I walk into the room. Lately I've been seeing a lot of the inside of her mouth, like Diablo's boy up there.

OMG retics are bottomless pits. My little baby girl will eat twice a week.

From what i understand and correct me if I'm wrong but boas have sensitive stomachs. They don't need the large food items that retics, burms, and afrocks need.

Let's take the pepsi challenge. Bring me any healthy adult retic, burm or African Rock...we will feed it a goat and then take it for a roller coaster ride. I promise. You can't make them puke. LOL. Boas on the otherhand...much more delicate but they are entirely 2 different animals. I still think it's better to feed large pythons larger meals gapped apart rather than feeding them often. Like any other snake a time period is much needed to reestablish gut flora so I think twice a week is a bad idea. Once a week for a year is fine...anything older than that needs to be on a 10-14 day schedule.
