Albino Burmese Pythons
I would like to get 2 albino burmese pythons but have a couple of questions. They will both be babies .....Can I house them together or should they grow up seperately?
My other question is when they are FULL grown what size cage do I need for them if they are together? and what size if they are in thier own
In gallons please LOL
Thank you

I would say for your case house them seperately. Makes everything easier and chances of things going wrong drops off.
An adult burm will not fit into anything that is typically described in gallons...
They would best be housed seperately in home made cages. Adults can range from 10-17ft on average... that can and do get bigger... The average rule of thumb for caging is a sqaure foot of floor space for every foot of snake... I think two 6'X3' cages would cover both snakes adequately... But the bigger the better... a whole room would be nice, and in that case i think keeping them together would be alright... but of course they would have to be fed seperately...
Hope I covered most of it!
Good day!

Is this going to be your first snakes?
Burm's get very very large. We are talking about a animal that will more and likely reach 10+ feet. You will need seperate cages for each animal. I will let you do that math on that. If the snake is a female expect it to get well over 12feet long as a adult.
Personally I don't think burms make good pets unless you have the space and can afford the time and money to feed them. But if thats what you want to do then go for it. Just make sure that you are willing to take care of a animal like this. Burms are a very big commitement animal

Please handle an adult somewhere before you make such a purchase. And if you do house them together please make sure they are same sex. The last thing you want is for them to breed...Lastly...please don't purchase them from a breeder or petstore. There are way too many in rescue looking and needing to be adopted.

your tellin me..lol they are quite difficult to care for when they reach adult size. we had one we rescued that was 18ft and snippy. trying to soak her was a mission and a half. her temperment wasnt all that bad, but when she went after ya, it was pretty darn scary.

My adult burms, by themselves, are each in custom built cages that are 700 gallons of space. I would never advocate keeping two together, one is more than a handful to try and maneuver when you need to. Having to try and keep one at bay while maneuvering the other one would be ridiculous. You'd have to remove them from each other the day before you fed (because they know when feeding day is, trust me), and not put them back together for days because the smell of food could cause major issues with you and between them. If it smells like food, a burm won't hesitate to try and eat it - even if it is another snake.

You know this brings up a good question.
Why is a animal like this that gets so freaking big one of the most popular reptiles to keep? Some would say its from the whole Albino craze. Yes these animals are beautiful rather it be albino or normal. Where do people draw the line. Do people know what there getting into when purchasing a animal like this? Do the big breeders explain to the people they sell to that this animal will get very large? If they don't then only one thing could be said about them....they are only it in for the money. I wonder how many "Albino Burms" are out there in the world without homes, or dead from lack of care/interest.
