HI.. Well, I thought I would come by and post a picture for you. This is a fresh hatched "Dwarf" Burmese Python. Its 80 Grams. Its Pattern is the same as my adult dwarves. They are just incredible. Thankfully I have 2 wild caught albino Burmese Pythons to breed to these so I dont have to expose the Dwarf line to any captive lines. They wont ever be able to get BD in my collection!! Anyway, I hope this picture works.. Hope you enjoy. Please see my webpage for pictures of adults and will be updated soon with baby pictures.

Thanks
Savannah

Pretty cool..definatly some kind of indian rock python...perhaps an all newly found species? Currious why you would breed it to a burm of normal size though...wouldn't that defeat the purpose and kinda negate the dwarf thing? Or do you think maybe the dwarf part is dominant and they will be small anyway? ...If indeed they don't end up growing to full size anyway. wait....2 wildcaught albinos? wow what's the odds of that happening?....still if this all holds true...and you have unrelated founding adults...wouldn't you do better with keeping them pure? Like I asked or mentioned before...for all we know this is really some new found subspecies...it would be a shame to mutt them up from the beginning.

Hi Julius,, Im not sure the "dwarf" is or is not a supspecies. But it is small and is different looking. Why breed it into albinos? TO get small sized morphs. Of course, if one breeds a "dwarf" into a bigger animal, the babies arent dwarves any longer. there must be work and out breeding done. I can keep them pure. I have several adult pairs that i am working with.

Yes, there was 2 male albino burms caught in vietnam this year in the same area, probably littermates. This is a goodthing for the albino gene. I have been called stupid rorpaying a high price to pick these up but I feel the genetics and BD in the current bloodlines is very bad. Someone needs to start overwith clean animals.

Thanks again
Savannah

Ok....I won't go into my negative thoughts about amelanism here lol..people are tired of hearing it anyway. I would love to see this project grow up and put a huge dent in the burm market. Too many bigguns without homes as it is and too many just not surviving bad housekeeping. Personally I think they are pretty enough without making them taffy yellow and I think you have a pretty good market with the normals. I might get back to ya in a few years and see if there are any normal het for nothing unrelated pairs available...can't even think about it now though...my plate is full lol
