There is true beauty in snakes that have simple colors. Very stunning animals.

I got to handle an adult macklotts python today and I completely fell in love. It's another species I'm gonna have to add to my long list of potentials.
Andy- That first pic looks a lot like a papuan python. O_o
say it is so...

haha - his cage is in the garage, so I just stuck him up there while I was cleaning. He looked pretty chill there....nice and comfy.

Nice snake, but feeding on the substrate like that is a big no-no....just asking for trouble.

Beautiful Mack Suad. Female i assume from the body size. My boys are getting close to six feet and still only bout 2 inches across. Females tend to bulk up more than the boys.

Thanks, I'm aware it has a risk, but the risk is minimal if you know what you're doing. In 20 years I've never had an impaction - guess I'm just REALLY lucky. Freshkill rodents that don't have any blood running out of them are fine - I wouldn't use f/t or bloodied rats in the same manner on substrate though.

Re: If you love Liasis Post some Pics...LOL
The risk is even more minimal if you don't do it at all....I'm just a "better safe than sorry" type of guy, thats just me though.

Re: If you love Liasis Post some Pics...LOL
Your opinion is noted, good sir. Most of my critters are on newspaper all of the time - and those that aren't are on the newspaper most of the time, so I'm not too worried about splitting hairs on the definition of "minimal". Rock on!

I love Mackies, man - my first pair I had was from an associate about 11 years ago, and I had reached a point where I was forced to sell them and it just about broke my heart. I got these two in 2002 and they're the longest tenured snakes in my collection currently. I love the way Mack's just hit a certain size and almost instantly calm down - all of my neo's have been nippy, but around the 3 year mark *poof*, instant attitude change. Riff-Raff and Guttertrash are extremely curious and come out of their already sizeable tank with no prodding whatsoever - they just say hello and start climbing on ya. Awesome snakes.
