Excuse the title, I lack creativity. Anyway, my girl Maddy is doing fine, she's about a year or so old now... but I was considering giving her company. Even the good reptile-only stores that I come across, I notice that ball pythons are rooming together. Is it safe to introduce a new roommate to one who has lived in solitude for nearly a year? There is plenty of room in the cage (though eventually I am going bigger), so that's not the issue. I just wouldn't want either royal to be harmed.

I would quarentine any new arrival. And letting them live together depends on the sex of the snakes. 2 Males could get combattive.

Well a quarantine is definite. I have a separate tank strictly for that. Madrina is female, and I'm considering a second female.

After the quarantine period is over, it shouldn't be a problem housing them together, however:
It is hard to tell which one defecated so if one has parasites both have to be treated
If one gets an infection both snakes have to be treated
Have to seperate to feed
Must have enough hides and plenty of ground space for both
I think it is more healthy and economically sound to house them seperately.
