Hi everyone I was just wondering how long is it possible to handle Ball pythons (in general) at one time before they start getting stressed out and what not.
Thanx

i personally handle my balls as long as i can
ball pythons people- git yer minds outta da gutta
i have my guys with me for hours at a time
my balls are no longer head shy either
you'll be able to see the reaction of your snake. a comfy ball is coiling on to your hand. a severly stressed ball is lying limp (i've seen it twice) not too limp, just kinda freaky still. not coiling or running away
anyways- try out small gradually increasing time if you want!
good luck

I would suppose that just like anything else it would depend on the temperment of the individual animals involved...some will always tolerate more than others. But as I don't have any balls of my own....I'm not to sure. [addsig]

Sup Ungrateful? Well lets see you can handle you Ball Pythons as long as you like! They really seem to enjoy being handled and after a while will become content with just hanging out! Handle them every chance you get this will get them use to people and not see them as a threat anymore! Also the occasional touch on the head will get them over the head shy bit! They generally will hang out for hours after they are use to you but still crawl and taste the air, and check things out![addsig]

You poor thing Prince...GOT NO BALLS HUH??? lmao
Ungrate...I would go with what the others have said here. Basically, as with ANY snake..you really need to go with "what" your snake is "telling" ya Personally..I handle my balls daily for up to a few hours...AND YES I DO HAVE BALLS!! LOL BUT It's the python one's I play with...hehe[addsig]

If you've just started handling it then i'd keep it to 15 mins minimum. Then once it gets use to you go nuts(not literally)!!!

Jajaja! No pun intended, eh?
Madrina loves to be handled... she always seems so much happier when she's hanging out with my sister and I than when she's in her boring shmoring cage! She was head shy the first few days I got her, but with gentleness and loads of trust, she's grown accustomed to it and doesn't mind to be stroked on the head at all.
