Got a royal, but bad news.
The girl who had him let him get stuk to a exoterra thermometer backing. so he was left hanging by his neck, the tank was turned on his side and he managed to pull free, but took a chunk of his skin out too . then he got trapped under the bulb gaurd.
got a vet appointment for tommorw.
hes not feeding either becuase she kept him in a tank too big but iv taken him, and he is mine now.
I also think he may have lots of broken bones - possibly due to the bulb gaurd. dont know how the girl treated him.
As you can see he did have retained shed too poor boy, but i got that off.
when i brought him home:
With out the retained shed:
His injury

Re: Got a royal, but bad news.
Glad you got him. Hope he pulls through OK.
If you keep calling him a "Royal" though, he'll never go back on feed. It makes them uppity.

Re: Got a royal, but bad news.
I'm so glad he's got a caring home now. Poor little guy, how could some one let that happen? Good of you to take him in, best of luck.

Re: Got a royal, but bad news.
Not sure if you were wanting advise, since you seem to know what you're doing, but here it is just in case Keep him on paper towels, and shred a few to give him a sense of security (or use the peanuts, that's pretty cool too). Don't let the humidity get too high - keep it about 55 percent. And apply neosporin (no pain releiver) probably once a day with a q-tip, try your best not to stress him while you're doing it though. If he is going to make it, it will get better with each shed, but may leave a scar. Also, I wouldn't feed an item much larger than his head or neck, to avoid stretching it and prolonging the healing process. Once its healed though, get him on a good feeding schedule...he seems very skinny!
.
Good luck with him, I'm sure he's in wonderful care
.
Keep us updated!
