Meet Zephyr!
This is Zephyr, an Australian Water Python ( liasis fuscus). He was originally bought at a reptile show in Pennsylvania several years ago, I believe he's 4 or 5 years old from what I remember, and 5ft long or so. Anyway, he belonged to a lady that my mom worked nearby to, and the lady used to be married to a guy that had a bunch of snakes, and she kept several, herself.
She was trying to raise three teenage boys by herself and it was getting to be very difficult, so she could no longer give him the time or attention he needed, so she was looking for a good home for him. After Zephyr was gone she would only have an albino lavender cornsnake that she was keeping. Luckily, my mom just happens to have a daughter (me :P ) who keeps snakes and other reptiles, and so after several email and picture exchanges, and being quite impressed with me "knowing my stuff" she felt that I would be a great home for Zephyr. I have always admired water pythons and so I'm happy and excited to have given Zephyr a home! And Angela (the lady) is really happy and relieved she found a good home for him. Zephyr is very sweet and "likes" to be handled, and he's absolutely gorgeous!! I love how shiny and irridescent he is, along with his brilliant yellow belly. I've still got some tweaking in his enclosure to do, as far as foliage goes, and I just took his hides out for the picture taking, but it should be good for now. He's a little on the thin side for now because he had gone through a winter fasting, but he'll fatten up in no time. Angela made sure he was eating well first before he came to me.
Angela and her husband at the time several years ago I believe created and owned ball-pythons.net, and she's known as Smynx "Queen of Common Sense" on there. Interesting and cool how close she actually was to me, huh? How sweet is that? Anyway, she was very impressed by my ponds and the cages I built for all my snakes. They used to have a large female water python that had a real nasty attitude, they found her quite challenging to feed and clean her enclosure. lol
Thanks again Angela!
Aaaaaand here is Zephyr!

Re: Meet Zephyr!
While they are called "water" pythons, they don't need an entire pool to swim in, but are commonly seen in water during the wet season in Australia.
I'll post pics of his entire setup soon.
