Re: is my snake turnig axanthic

Snakes don't become axanthic. They either are or they aren't at birth. Sometimes BPs will go through minor color changes, I've heard of it happening before. Pics would help a lot, if you can get some.

Re: is my snake turnig axanthic

Yeah . . . axanthism is a genetic trate. An animal cannot become a certain genetic morph. I would be nice, though if it could happen.

Re: is my snake turnig axanthic

Where are your feeders from?
Dietary deficiencies can cause snakes to lose pigment.

Re: is my snake turnig axanthic

I have seen a dramatic case on another forum of a female snake losing her yellow pigment. BUT, yours does not seem to be doing anywhere the same thing.
Check it out
Here
I suggest taking him to a qualified herp vet for further diagnosis.

Re: is my snake turnig axanthic

I'm with Steve on this one. I've seen the loss of pigment like the spider in the other thread and I really believe it is dietary and not genetic or ontogenic (ie - age onset). You snake should not have any negative side effects and should remain healthy. I'm not a vet that's why I'm saying "should", but I've seen this phenomenon in a couple snakes before that are still alive, breeding, even producing eggs.
