The patient
Here she is. The one with the scale rot. She is going to the vet Monday.
I was fortunate enough to get a script for silver sulfadiazine today (man that stuff is expensive for a little container :ack2: ) to apply to her belly since her stomach started getting more red despite the use of neosporin. You can see her belly here from when she first arrived. Scale Rot?
She is getting more red instead of clearing up. The vet thinks she will need antibiotics and the scale rot is a secondary infection. The red is actually blood and the scale rot is coming from the inside out (instead of the outside in like I had thought) but will have a better idea of what is going on at the visit. Most likely baytril injections. Thats going to be fun. Looks like I'll be adding to the vets kids college fund again this year since I can't see myself sending her back to where she came from since this was not noticed by her previous owner. Needless to say she will be in QT for quite a while.
Anyway, here she is. For having this and the healed injuries (on her sides and her poor nose), she is a very easy going snake. A few hisses when the cream is applied but that's about it.

Well, as bad as it may be now, it will be great when she is all healed up. You will be glad you kept her.

Re: The patient
Whoever you bought that from saw that. Everyone knows he did. He was just passing the vet bill. I'm glad to hear that you kept her, and are giving her the care she needs.
Sorry to hear about the injections though. Those can be a pain. When I rescued my 6ft iggy he had a mouth infection. I had to give him ceftazidime injections. Try holding down a 6 ft (would be longer had he not lost some tail from the previous owners) male iggy and shooting him up in the arm while he thrashes. Lol, just remember, it could be worse. Anyway, I'm sure I speak for us all when I say we're all glad you've taken her in.
