blood python
Im considering getting a blood python.I just have a few questions. Is it okay if i dont use a basking spot, but instead keep him warm by using infared bulbs. Also i hear they are not very active.Would it be okay to handle him once or twice a day.
Could you please share pics of your blood pythons.

Re: blood python
Hi there, I only recently got my blood python and he is a real gem... The guy i got him from has loads of breeding pairs of blood pythons and all of his are kept warm with heat mats... no lighting what so ever... All are healthy and gorgeous....
At the moment my blood is kept in a tub, on a heat mat till it grows a bit more... i hear they tend to prefer smaller spaces till they are quite big... Also they prefer high humidity, about 75%... when young.
I dont think bloods get much credit as they can be quite nasty when big, but the ones i have met have been handled from young and are real sweeties...
All i can say for now, as like i said, i am still figuring this out as i go and still have to learn a load...
hope you find all the info you need.... and good luck
JP

Re: blood python
That was what i read when i first got my blood Morti, really good reading... About the best info i got for bloods. There is so much bad stories about bloods, but i still go by that saying... " there are no bad snakes, only bad keepers!"
Thanks again for that link, i was looking for it...

Re: blood python
$150 and up. Depends on color. The redder the better... and the more expensive.
