I use the same with a Helix DBS1000 to regulate the temps for me for added sound of mind. Its a mear 129$ to add to the 25$ hovabator in my opinion.

Re: Incubators

Ive purchase mine from LLLReptile.com. But pretty much any pet supply can and will have them. Try bean farm if your on the east coast of the state.

If you go to reptiles magazine and search back i believe 2 issues back. there was a good article to make a incubator from a cooler, that is if your handy and all.

Ps, if your going to have eggs in the near future, be sure to have it up and running well before the eggs come. They are a bit fussy to get the temps set up correctly if your not using a regulator/thermostat. Before using hte helix, it took me a good 3 days to get the temps to stay constant. There are many factors with heat and humidity depending on where you live. Another thing to take into thought.

Best of luck.
Ed

Re: Incubators

I have one of those coolers that are in bait shops and pet stores for the worms. I ran a 6 foot by 1 foot piece of heat tape down the back and have about 5 thermostats regulating temps.
