That's why I am only leaving him up for a few more days.
The proving out process has begun. I have no doubt that there will be a new animal to hit the market in the future.
Now to deal with is it dominant, co-dominant, recessive, random, etc.
That's the difficult part.
If the babies come out normal does that mean it's recessive, or did I miss the odds and it's dominant, is there a super form if it is dominant? Lots of work ahead to prove out the genetics.
Many, many babies to be held back and many, many more breedings to find the answers.
No wonder the big guys are the ones proving things out. Us little guys don't have the available space, number of females, etc that they have available to them.

The female he got gravid gave 9 eggs last year. If, that's a big if, she lays 9 again, then that's 9 additional animals to hold onto. Then I need to dedicate at least 2 more adult females and say they have 5 eggs each. That's another 10. So in theory I need to hold onto possibly 19 babies until they get large enough to breed if I don't see a visual from one of the breedings to find out if this is recessive.
That's a lot of mouths to feed and house.
I tell you what though, I might be able to let you have all the males babies. LOL.
