New behaviour!?

For the very first time since I have owned Rex he has crawled into his water dish and taking a long soak. I check him for mites every so often - haven't see any. Checked the temps since it is warming up - no troubles there. Humidity a bit low but not too bad. He has NEVER soaked in his dish that I have seen - and NEVER in the daylight. Will take him out later and give him another good check. My question is - has anybody else had a BP that changed it's behavior like this before? I was so worried for a bit cuz his entire head would go underwater for a bit and then he would come back up. *sigh* I am probably worrying over nothing - but he is so precious to me and this is totally new for him.

I only have boas, but on a few occasions my RTB has been known to soak for a few days, totally out of character for her. It was before her eyes turned blue, so she was getting ready for a shed. She has not done it since.

I have often wished Rex would soak before his shed - perhaps now he is making that choice. Although is has not gone blue - he is starting to show a little bit of pink on his belly - a sign of a shed to come. Thanks!
