Mites!!!!
OMG
I went in to my sisters room like I do almost every day just to take a look at my sisters growing pastel Ball Python, Don Juan. I go in, I see a single mite on his back, i calmly tell her... she knows very little about mites, well she did and she freaked. We got it off and gave him a good look over and a quick bath. a little while later we called our local pet store and he told us that if we find another one, take the steps toget rid of them, but since it was just one, not to go insane yet.
I feel better, it was only one, but I am still very worried for Don Juan and the sanity of my sibling.

a good rule of thumb is to treat for mites, even if you only find one. mites are small, AND love to hude in the substrate. where theres one.... there is most likely ALOT.

yupp I would take all substrate out and everything in there OUT and clean the cage frome top to bottom. Then get new substrate, and clean all the decor, What have you, then still spray for mites. Don needs a good bath too

Was it a mite for sure? Sometimes when you get a cypress mulch substrate it comes with little bugs. Not all bugs that you see in the tank are mites.
