New Ball python
Hi everyone,
I just had someone drop off a ball python to me tonight he did not want any more as his son lost interest in it. I don't know if it's a male or a female but I will probe it sometime next week to find out. It seems healthy just a little on the small side. They told me it's 1 year and 2 months old I did weight it and it's only 4.6 oz. very small for a ball this age in my opinion. He told me it eats with no problem for them on dead rats and they only feed it 2 pinkies every 6 to 8 weeks. I will try and feed it tomorrow when I thaw some rats out for my baby boas and see if it will eat. I think I will up it's feedings to 1 rat every 7 to 10 days and see if I can get some weight on it.
Take care
Tom

Maybe it's just the lighting, but I realized he also looks a bit dehydrated. Maybe get him into a soak, if you feel it wouldn't stress him too badly.

looks like a female. i did some reaidng up on determining the sex and they say you can tell by the size of the snakes head. if its big its likly a female and if its small its a male. my snakes head is smaller than this and i been telling myself its a male. lol its the same size maybe just a wider girth but a test probe would be more accurate lol.
