I am so lucky!
Just got done feeding Rex (previously known as El Cajone) and cleaning his home. I've seen many people talking about how BPs go off their food for periods of time every year. Since getting Rex (almost 2 years now I think) he has never refused food and never gone into any form or hibernation as others have discussed. When my daughter had him for me for a while - he never went off his food then either. He is just so laid back and sweet. I should measure again - but he is a bit over 4' and eats 2 small f/t rats about every 2-3 weeks. My vet said not to feed too large as the head stays so small compared to his middle and this was what he recommended. So I just consider myself very lucky that Rex has offered me no worries and is nothing but sweet.

Thats good to hear. I have a adult BP, about 6 years old, and have had to offer it fresh killed since I got her. Tried everything in the book to get her to eat f/t, but no luck. Also, she has the attitude of a angry pit-bull, not the normal bp.

That's amazing - I've never met a BP that was not mellow. Does she settle down once you get her out? Rex is so curious about things that he doesn't even ball up with company. At Christmas he came out to visit us and he seemed to enjoy being with everyone. My sister's girlfriend, who is a bit afraid of snakes, held him and think she lost some of that fear.

My BP is very mellow, even though I have had it (yes I know...) for less than a week I haven't gotten bit once and it is very curious. I am so happy

Sounds like you have one strange BP - is she the only one you have? I totally love the 'neck massages' that Rex gives me.

Enjoy him while he's small - they are so cute!!! But then . . . I think they are cute when grown up too. hehe

Good for you! I can't imagine a BP only 18" at 2 yrs old . . . glad you have him now . . . got any pics?
I will try to get some pics of Rex soon. It's so crazy around here as I am packing to move. ugh!
