Python Eating Weird Last 3 Times

My BP has attempted to eat his food from the side the last 3 times.. He will actually knaw at it trying to push it down from the side but there is no way it would actually work.. has this happened with any1 elses snake? I juss find it really weird that he tries to eat from the side knowing it will not work..

heh, first time i fed my rtb that happened. I just left her to get on with it though, and she did manage to eat it [img]modules/Forum/images/smiles/icon_smile.gif[/img]

Last week my bp tried to eat her mouse tail first, took 40 mins, but she got it. This week, she figured out how to do it and scarfed her mouse the right way. Did your python finish the mouse? Thats all that matters [img]modules/Forum/images/smiles/icon_smile.gif[/img] If it didn't finish, then just keep offering it food till it gets it right. Also, you could try offering it smaller food items if it will not swallow head first. Good luck

Nah my BP is a good feeder, it has managed to swallow head first and tail first.. the side ways thing is what gets me though.. just very weird.. And the food isn't too big, too small if anything..

there's your answer...I have noticed this with my watersnakes. If I offer a food item that's too small, they will on occasion try and fold it in half and eat it sideways...offer bigger prey items.
