I hatched an albino chondro in January of this past year. These are a couple of photos I've taken over the last two days. The first shot is a close-up of the albino. The red markings have started to turn light purple. A light blue is starting to appear in the stripe on either side of its snout and the white dorsal markings are starting to appear
The second photo is a head shot of one of the "normal" siblings to the albino...this one was taken at the beginning of August.
The third photo is a comparison of the albino and one of the "normal" animals. The "normal" animal in the photo is already showing some green on his head and over the last month has become freckled with brown spotting. Some of the other "normal" animals have done, or are doing the same thing.
It's hard to demonstrate all that makes the albino unique with still photos. In order to render color accurately, I take photos in diffuse natural light. The light is typically too bright to capture the animal with its pupils dilated and not bright enough to capture a still shot of the tongue. The flash captures the tongue, but the colors seem to be slightly distorted. I'm going to try to shoot some digital movies of the albino and figure out a way to post them on my site. I will continue to post color change updates on my site. All of you with the "insatiable chondro curiosity" can check there just in case I get too busy to post them all here. There are lots more pics on my site that show the albino from hatch to the present.
