These are from Paul Farmer. They are doing great now. Eat every week a rat pup. Today, they were out of pups so each ate 2 mice. Here are Ryoko (female) and Tenchi (male) working at it.
The little plastic tuperware thing is their humidity Igloo. All three love them, but when they move to bigger tanks (soon) I'll have to make new ones.
Ryoko :
Tenchi :
Tenchi again :

I find it harder with BPs to judge the right size prey. Their heads are so small! But their bodies are getting rounder and longer. I decided to go 2x fat mice instead of a small rat. I wasn't sure if they would take the second prey (there is a first time for everything).
About 30 seconds after the first tail dissapeared, I offered them the second prey and they just took it right away.
I think I need to move up on prey since now every three days or so they are searching all over the cage, like they are hungry. They used to go a week on a rat pup, not anymore.

Nice royals man. Cool to hear, since my royal's name is Tenchi. Wonder how you come up with yours? Come to my mind one day when he was a finicky eater.

My kids are big anime fans, and I am a collector. I just recently bought all the Tenchi DVDs.
I got the 3 BPs and could not think of names. Since it is a boy and two girls, Tenchi, Ryoko and Ayeka seemed right....

I would toss him small rats and not look back. You'd be surprised what a ball can take down...

Well, by now, much bigger than this pictures (old post)...
Notice the size reference of Tenchi vs the mouse he is eating. He now eats small rats.
I tell you, it took a while to get them into a feeding schedule, but now is not a problem at all. They eat every sat morning and right away. I also get them on pre-killed. I took a limited risk with the mice, but is was NOT going to put a rat in there alive. So when they went from mice to rats I also started to pre-kill and they had no complaints.
I have to update the pics. Maybe tonite.
