Too big?
OKay, fuzzy mice are proving too small for Julian. So i bought rat pups (Hope he takes them) I'm just scared they might be too big for him now
I took some comparison pics of him and the rat. Tell me what you guys think

OH NO! I think your rat is dead. No really, looks fine.. watch bulge if it is a little too big just hands off a little longer 4 days or so he should spurt up in size quick after a size change. I love baby ball pythons.

Normally, the younger a rodent is the higher the fat to body weight ratio is. So you would want to get the largest, yet youngest rodent into your snake.
At least that is my logic.
Plus one good sized meal is easier to digest than 2 or more smaller meals, and I would think that more smaller meals means more teeth, fur, and nails per weight of rodent. But that is probably not that significant.

mice have very little meat on them. rats have much more meat and good nutrients for your snake.
