Gypsy's Car And Lawn Adventure
Gypsy is one of our female ball python's. She is a wonderful girl and very mellow. Gypsy weighs over 2200 grams and is about 3 or 4 years old. Not too sure of her age, as we bought as an adult.
This was her first time in the car with me and like all the others I start out with them on my neck. They soon get the notion to look out the driver's side window and slowly crawl along the edge of the door onto the dashboard.
Everyone one so far has stayed on top of the dash especially when it's nice and warm there. They get the full sun for awhile and warm themselves right up.
The ride they go on is when I pick Michelle up at work. Just about everybody does a double take when I show up or when Michelle puts them around her neck in the store.
When we get home Michelle gives them a little grass time for them to enjoy. Most of the ball pythons we have have never been on grass so it is very new to them.
All the photo's you see are of Gypsy, just one of my baby girls.
First time in the grass and her hunting instincts kick in.
This next one is one of my favorite photo's.

Those are great pics!
I dont drive with my snakes anymore. I read a story where a boa bit and constricted its owner while he was driving down the road, and he wrecked his car. Even if some idiot slams into you, your snake could get injured, or be killed, or it could get loose during the chaos that ensues after a wreck. It never makes a good news story, at least not for the snake.
Not trying to throw a wet blanket on the great pics But you might take that into consideration, and maybe invest in a small clear plastic shoe box tote so you can still take your snake with you and get it out when you get to where you are going
I've started really trying to watch the little things I used to do with my snakes, as they could have adverse affects on others who own snakes. I used to take my snakes into pet stores, and now I wont, due to not only people's unbelievably stupid actions and reactions..but also due to airborne diseases such as IBD.

Thanks for the tips, so far I've been lucky. The ball pythons have been great riding in the car. Either staying with me or sitting up on the dash.
I too have thought of all the consequence's and I know that life is a gamble. I take my pets into Petco where I meet a lot of people interest in that type of snake or lizard. That's where I can show them what to expect with that type of pet and that it's not something of a novelty to own. They demand attention just like a human child.
I suppose I'm pushing the envelope in this way but I also get to educate Petco employees and I've got a good relationship going on with them now.

There was a story recently about a guy that got pulled over for drunk driving by the highway patrol. When they got to the car they found out the owner was not drunk, but was struggling to get his pet snake off of his neck. It didn't constrict it just accidently got too tight and he couldn't get it off with one hand while driving!
