Maybe I should keep out of this but I am bored here right now so here I go.

Before I knew better I used to feed live mice to my young ball pythons. I was very careful to watch them, and ready with a stick to jam into the mouse's mouth if it was trying to bite the snake while being constricted. The stick was used a lot.

I now breed and kill my own mice, and I keep those mice very clean and healthy.

I have had to rush to the stupid pet shop to take their python to my vet after having been left in the tank with a large live mouse for a few hours. The snake was not hungry, but the mouse sure was.

The only mice I still feed live to snakes is pinkies - to Drake, my little fully grown 14" Jamaican Thunder Snake.
