New to Balls!!!

I just recived a ball from someone who wasnt taking good care of him.I no nothing about his history because they got him from someone else who didnt want him any more.I have a redtail but this ball is so diffrent from her.She's very docile.The ball keeps hissing and hids under a rock.does this mean he hasnt been messed with much and i need to try to handle him or do i just need to leave him alone?Will he act this way if he hasnt been fed?They said they didnt know the last time they fed him.Just hoping someone can help me with this ball.I want to try to keep him instead of passing him on to someone else wich seems to be the case for him so far.I think they said he was about 3yrs old.

let him settle in get the temps right feed him wait a few days then start trying to handle him take it slow though maybe dont even take him all the way out of the cage if he seems hessitant just try to take it slow balls are easily stressed

If you have just moved him, then he will be stressed as he's in a new home. Also as you pointed out, if he has not been well cared for he will probably be of a nervous disposition, as well as the possibility that he has had limited handling. Leave him for a while and I am sure he will come round. If you can post some pictures people would be able to give a better idea of his nutritional state. Good luck. beaten to it by yungair23
