Is it possible for my bp to be blind? Cause hes always running into things and is really touchy around his head. Today when i fed him he struck at the rat and bit him self.

Your pics look as though he has eye caps still on. You should consider
soaking your snake in warm water, he also looks like he may be ready to
shed. And yes, eyecaps left on will eventually blind your snake.
Your snake isn't a 6 footer either. Its about 2-3 feet, maybe.

He must be measuring with that new math stuff!
But if you suspect your snake has retained eye caps, DO NOT JUST PULL THEM OFF!!!!
Give it a good long soak and then let it crawl through a wet towel , to remove the caps.
LET THE SNAKE DO ALL THE WORK !!!!

Hello,
I also have a BP. It's in the process of shedding now. It has shed once before since I've had it. I didn't see it doing the actual shedding though (I'm going to be there this time). I'm writing because my BP also 'bumps' a little into walls. I had thought that it was normal since I keep her in an aquarium (glass sides) and she might not be able to tell the glass as being there. But since yours also seems to bump against things maybe it's not normal.
Mine is also a little head shy but from what I've read is pretty normal for a BP. It's just the way they are.
I never noticed anything strange about her eyes after her first shed. How can you tell if the eye caps haven't come off? I'd like to know so that I'll be able to tell if it happens in this second shed.
Thanks.

LMAO, my first thought was... OH no, he came back! then I looked at the date of the thread. (not talking about you Dani, refering to "kjimeson" the co-joined beandip [always loved that one Eddie lol])
Anyway.... the best way to make sure your snake does not get retained eyecaps is to maintain a good humidity level number1, and everytime he/she sheds make sure you can see the shed caps. This link has some pics of retained caps, compare yours with the pics. -Juggalo

Thanks Juggalofwb,
I guess mine doesn't have retained eye caps because it's pretty obvious when they do. Humidity is around 70% which should be enough for a normal shed.
Thanks anyways.

Keep in mind, the boa in the pic has several layers of eyecaps retained (correct me if I'm wrong Lori ), so it might not be so obvious all the time. Not to try to worry you or anything LOL. -Juggalo

Well, where to start...One; glass aquariums are fine to keep snakes in, and they do eventually realize that there is glass, so that is not anything to worry about. Next...make sure that when you feed your snake that its body temp is up pretty high, low temp seems to affect their movements, including striking at food(this is a big one for my burm, she misses and gets me sometimes hehe). The eyecaps; something to worry about, but they ARE pretty obvious when they are retained. I had a ball that had ticks in its eyes when I got him and he always retained his eyecaps, which was odd because peralysis ticks aren't supposed to be on domestically bred snakes, I have my assumptions. As far as the touchiness goes around the head, that should be expected with any new snake, just handle a lot, and when he/she is in the tank, make sure it feels comfortable.
Hmmmm, what else...?(sorry its kinda early).
Oh, mites or ticks may account for the bumping and rubbing, or it may be trying to shed; something to check. Good luck.

I didn't mean to say that my BP missed on her strikes on the mice, on the contrary she never has. I have read somewhere that BPs are terrible shots though, just not in my case. Whenever she has eaten she has got them perfectly.
Even though they are small, I haven't seen any mites or ticks on her or in her cage, which is a good thing.
As far as handling goes. How much handling do you guys do? I handle around 1/2 hour every day or two, except while shedding or one day after she's eaten. I can handle her more, should I? I haven't been because I don't want to stress her out (even though it doesn't seem to stress her because she doesn't coil up or go into a ball).

HEY!!! Funny youguys should mention missed strikes at prey items. I had a ball that did not have retaines eye caps, no parasites, not sick, or anything alse. But every time I fed him, (Frozen) he missed the rat!! It took him 4 or 5 strikes to finally "Catch" his dinner.........lmao. He was sweet, but we called him Special K, cause we thought he wasn't all there.
