Buying blood pythons
Hey, I am thinking about getting a pair of blood pythons.
I have been put into touch with a good supplier with a great reputation.
They want 1000euro, but I got them to 600.
I haven’t paid for them yet, and I am not obliged to buy them.
I took a pic on my cell phone and showed them to a friend,
He claims that they are an ‘ugly strain of blood python, not the as nice as ones form Borneo’
I personally thought they look fine, the female was a really rich red, with nice markings, the male wasn’t as nice, but they both look extremely healthy,
They are a good seize, about 4 years old.
I want to breed them, just as Hobby, and maybe make a small amount of money along the way. (The money isn’t really important)
So my questions are?
Is that a good price?
Is worth my while?
Is my friend talking rubbish?
Any opinions and advice would be great

I would say that you might be paying a fair price as long as they are both captive bred and beautiful. Does the price of 600 euros include shipping{if applicable}? Are the pair both captive bred? That is just my opinion. I have no clue what they go for in Ireland and Europe, but he is asking for just a little more then comparable breeders of Bloods here. I only paid 90 dollars for my baby Red Sumatran Blood Python and that included shipping. I realize that these are two adults.
Anyways good luck, just check with good old ST Patrick before you bring any more snakes on his Island. Take care,

They don’t have to be shipped, I just have to pick them up, I went out to see them, and I think they are a good deal.
They said they were captive breed in the uk.
And the price is quite good, other people that I know selling them will take no less than 500euro each.
As for st Patrick, he’s long gone, so no worries there!
They also offered a pair of 2year old pair of emerald tree boa’s for 1500euro, with a decent seized tank, humidifier included. But unfortunately I didn’t have that much money to spare.
I think I will buy the bloods

Well...there are Bloods that you are looking at, and then there are Borneos which your friend is talking about. Borneos stay a little smaller, but the attitude, housing, and husbandry is exactly the same.
