Carpet Python questions
What size cage do you guys recomend as a nice to keep carpet pythons in. I have had people say 40 breeders but I think that is way to small. I wa sthinking along the lines of a 3 foot cube with heating lights on it. Will adults spend anytime in the trees or what? I wanted to put a few inches of soil in the bottom and plant a few small plants to keep the humidity up and create hide spots. Also, what size rats will they max out on? I am looking at a costal or jungle carpet python.

An adult Carpet Python can be housed properly if kept in a terrarium with adequate vertical climbing space. A 4'x4'x2' tank is suitable for smaller species (ex: Jungle Carpets), but a 6'x4'x2' is better for larger subspecies (ex: Coastal Carpets). Young carpets can be housed in a 15 to 35 gallon terrarium for the first year or so. Adults will climb if stuff is provided. I am not sure what size of rats they will max out on because my girl is a bit over a year old. All these pics are about 8 months old i will get some updated ones soon. Her yellow has really come out, think of a bright clear yellow and that is her colour. She is a really highend one i got her from a big breeder in the states i can't remember his name but i saw the parents and the yellow was as bright as Green Tree Python babies very impressive.

Mostly a custom cage is built for adult snakes of 6'+. I would agree with 6'x4'x2'.
