Cage requirments for ball
I am thinking about getting a baby ball phyton. What size cage would an adult need...How big do these guys get...If I am reading different articles correctly they don't get really big.... I have only 2 other snakes...a baby rosy boa ( who is finally eating good for me) and a baby corn snake. I am trying to convince my husband that I need ONE MORE!!!! Thanks for your help. connie

"Hi, my name is Connie, and I'm a snake addict". How do you get your husband to agree to these things? I had to beg for both of mine.

OKAY...OKAY....Hello, My name is Connie and I am a snake addict
My husband has said no more dogs, no more cats, but he hasn't said no more snakes....besides, he wants to get a tortoise and a chameleon...whats one more little snake????hummmmm???? First I have to get a place for it to live in...and I need to do lots more reading. I am going to have two cages built for the corn and the rosy boa. they are going to measure 36 long by 18 wide by 14 tall. They will be able to stack on top of one another with a nice base for them to sit on. I can't wait to get them. Here is a picture of what they will look like. Have a wonderful day. connie

40 gal breeder would be ideal. with ball pythons bigger isnt always neccasarily better. you might find your ball likes smaller enclosures. yes a ball python can live in a 30gal its whole life. the biggest i would go with a ball male or female is 4'x2'x2 though

I've been keeping my 4 female balls (my biggest being 4 1/2 feet) each in their own underbed sterilite container that's 44 inches long and... like 16 inches deep and 6-7 inches high or so. They're quite happy in there, but I do plan on building more nice cages for them later like I did for my female boa.
My male ball lives in a glass 40 gallon breeder tank and will most likely stay his whole life in there, but of course he loves it.
