Well rabbit pinks anyway. This is my 9 month 500 gram female(no I did NOT power feed her, she comes from a huge mom and dad) anyway, I found out she LOVES rabbit pinks. Ive never seen a BP eat a rabbit until now.
I had a rabbit I was going to kill and freeze for a feeder and ended up letting her live for a few days because my burm was due to eat so we thought we'd fresh kill it instead of freeze and un thaw it. Anyway, on her doomsday..lol, she gave birth to 7 baby bunnies. Of course I couldnt keep them around will all the big burms in the house, Id get eaten...lol
So I fed 2 to my tiger rat snake, 2 to my male borneo blood, 2 to one of my small burms and offered one to the BP just to see if she'd take it...well,WHAM!!! Also, I dont normally feed her on her aspen without putting down some newspaper, but honestly, I didnt think she'd take it.
Anyway, I just wondered if anyone else has fed their BP's rabbits??

Wow, that's pretty cool. I have heard of and seen a pic of somebody's 6' ball python that regularly eats 1-2 lb. rabbits. Rarely do they get that big to eat an adult rabbit. But yeah, I suppose it doesn't surprise me that they'd eat a rabbit pink. I just haven't heard of it happening w/ rabbit pinks before. They're about the size of a small rat, aren't they? By the way, what'd you do with the mom?
By the way, I know rabbit pinks are harder to find than gerbils, but I was just wondering if they would work well with getting WC ball pythons to eat? I'm sure wild balls encounter rabbits/hares in the wild, don't they? And if they'll only take live, well, a live pink rabbit can't possibly hurt a ball python at all.

That's pretty cool!
I think I would have frozen them for a few days first , cause of the parasite thing, but ya never know.
That is still pretty neat that it will eat such a drastically different food than the norm, especially since BPs are the pickiest at times.
I just hope that this one time didn't spoil him like some food items tend to do, you know like ice cream, pizza, popcorn etc.

Well Eddie, you are right about the freezing thing. I guess I just didnt think about that and the fact Id just put 85 rabbits in the freezer and had NO room. I guess I just couldnt kill the little things. She actuallt ate a f/t rat 10 days after(yesterday) so I dont think she is spioled.
Bry, She was produced by a friend of mine's adults. He didnt breed this season because it was a little late last season and the mom lost a ton of weight with this 11 egg monster clutch...lol so hopefully next year he'll breed her again.
They are the size of a small rat, but now that you mentioned it, Ijust took in a WC ball that someone local was sold as a CB and could not care for. Maybe I should've tried him with the rabbit pink?? And you're right...the rabbit pinks, as sad as it sounds, didnt even try to fight back.

Pretty cool. I never thought about that. This is the first time I've seen a Royal eating a rabbit pink...much less a rabbit.
