I wouldnt pay much over 50-80 for a normal. If the animal has mites you will see them after handling the animal, the will stay on your hands, and will look like little red or brown dots. In the cage you need a hide box, two is ideal. one on the hot and one on the cold side. outdoor carpet or astro turf is a good substrate for Royal "Ball" Pythons, and you will need a water dish as well that is large enough for the animal to soak in. you dont want to put the dish over the heat pad as this will defeat the purpose of using the water to cool off. ceramic heat emitters are good for at night and if you have humidty problems place damp spagnum moss in one of the hides. any branch can be used with royals its usually just a decoration anyhow. Just make sure it is sterile. And you may want to get a book or read a few care sheets before purchasing the animal so you can have its new home set up before you bring it home.

i don't know if its against the rules to plug another site or not (sorry in advance if it is...a quick check of the FAQ looked like it was ok). www.ball-pythons.net has alot of great info and people dedicated to helping along with alot of articles and care sheets. Of course you can find this info all over the net as well. Be sure to do you OWN research and follow up so you can create the best captive environment possible.

You'll NEVER sell your tegu. Its a Colombian which means its an "interesting" pet, I know as I have one too. If you were lucky you could give it away.

Yes sorry! I didn't mean to discredit this great site!
I do encourage research though and utilizing as many resources as you can find.

Trade him to the pet store? That really shows how much you care about him, huh? Actually it shows why many children shouldn't have pets.
