Irian Jaya climbing a bare tree trunk
I was cleaning cages this morning and my wife brought the phone out to me in the snake house so I walked outside to talk and had my female Irian Jaya carpet in my hands so I just set her down in the grass to crawl around while I talked.
Well she went right over to one of the oaks in my yard and started up it. I didn't think she would get very far since the first limb is about 6ft. off the ground, but that didn't stop her at all. She just gripped the bark with her belly scales and up she went. I left her there with my wife watching her while I got my camera and got these shots. I have seen other species of snake do this, but I didn't think she could get her chubby butt up there like that. I guess I was wrong.LOL!
