Humidi-Mat and Spotted Python
I've been having a hard time maintaining the humidity for my spotted python (about 6 months old). This weekend I picked up a Humidi-Mat. I soaked it overnight per the instructions and added it to the cage. I haven't seen my snake since. Since it sits halfway on the UTH, it kind of acts like a big hot water bottle and she just snuggles right up next to it. (I know this since I have dug in her up in a panic twice). Does anyone have any experience with these? Any problems? I've checked the temps, and the UTH is not making it too hot. Thanks in advance!

I didn't think so, but she's had two kind of rough sheds in a row, so I thought I'd try to up it. Her temperature range is 90-75, she's on cypress, eats like a pig, so I'm kind of at a loss. Any thoughts?

when I had spotted's I kept a small tupperware container with slightly damp sphagnum moss in it, and kept it moderately moist (to the point where you could barely squeeze water from it)
That seemed to work pretty good.
But for the rest of the cage, I kept it pretty dry.
another thing you can do is to mist the cage down lightly when you notice the snake going blue.
That may be the more appropriate time to raise humidity.

I appreciate your help! She gives absolutely no indication she's going to shed, but I could probably time it out pretty accurately.

I would just soak her in warm water when she's about to shed, that's what I do with all of my snakes(including my spotted when I had it) and it worked like a charm.
