I don't know of anyone personally who has one, but if I had the money and the space, I've considered getting into ball morphs, including pieds. The problem is the cost- the cheapest pied I've seen was going for $6500, and hets are going for $2000 a pair or more.

I still cant believe anyone would pay that much money for a snake.
1000.00 I can understand, but 12K for something that someone may never buy, or something that could die , or never breed.
thats just insane.

If people stopped buying them, the prices would drop. It's all supply and demand. Personally I wouldn't pay anywhere near that for any snake, no matter what colour/species it was.

I own a het piebald male right now and am in the works of aquiring a homozygous or 100% het female.. Beeker is a 66% het for piebald and he is growing like a weed so we need to find a female asap for the at the earliest 2007.
female hets are a lil cheaper but my het male cost me $250 because he's not proven =P

Piebalds are gorgeous and hopefully someday I will acquire a few through
breeding hets. I think if you check around enough you will find a good flutuation
in pricing on hets. I'm not sure I'd take a chance on anything less than a 100% het
unless I already had some and ran across a potentially good deal on some 66%.
For now I have enough Boa Morph projects going to keep me busy for years!
If I'm lucky the Boas will afford me the ability to acquire some Piebald Python 100% hets. It's hopefully just a matter of time.
