Size question

Ive had my ball since june of 2003....Hes probably full length, and hes got alot of weight on him. he eats a frozen thawed small rat every week. Im going to switch him to mediums soon.

My question is is when will i start to see him firm up? Hes still young, and hes probably reached his full length for the most part, but hes still growing a bit. Ive noticed that my friends BP is firm and is about the same size but older. Im wondering if a very soft body can be a sign of a overweight BP?

I would not be too concerned with the snake being soft. Also is the bp a year old or have you only had him a year? How long is he and how old?

I would "up" his prey size and see what happens from there. I feed my '03 BPs on rats that are just slightly wider than the snake's girth (although when thawed, they do look a bit skinnier because they stretch out.)
How often does your friend feed their snake?

hes about 1.5 years old, over 3 feet, and i upped his frozen rat size to medium. He took the first medium offering with ease

my friend doesnt feed his snakes often, but if he does feed them frequently its a small prey size. His mice died so he has all adult frozen mice for the winter. I'd say now even though my BP is younger, it is significantly bigger and longer since his ball suffered a fast of i think like 6 months. Which i brought him out of.
