Ok, I know this is pretty cheeseball, here's what I named my boas. The male is named Apolo and the female Sasha. I guess I watched a little too much winter olympics the year!

I'm not at all creative when it comes to naming my pets....Anyway, my RTB's name is Pete but that was his name already when I got him. I was thinking of changing his name to Rojo (Spanish for red) or Bogota (as in Bogota, Columbia)...but I decided not to As for my corn, his name is Iowa

I like to try to use descriptive names... if a snake has a color I really like, i try to think of
something that shares that color...
boas: Autumn (named because the tail color reminded me of falling autumn leaves)
Vegas (named because I got her in Las Vegas)
Zahara (this name was suggested, it is Swahili for "flower"
corns: named after their colors... 50/50 (ice cream bar), snowball, garnet, opal
Flake, was named after her being a flakey eater
BRB: Irontail... named because he had the damaged tail
I find flowers and gemstones have some neat names.. I also enjoy looking up
words in other languages.. heck you can even use a baby name book!

We have a BCI named Cleopatra and a Betta fish named Poseidon. But I name everything...my car is named Elsie Dee, I've got a screwdriver named Lil B@$tard, a cast iron pan named Lucille, a lamp named Roxanne, a stock pot named Beulah, and back in my outlaw days, pipes named Tweety, Ali, and Shaq (a 7'er)
What gets me is people's screen names....

The list of my critter names gets pretty extensive. I will post a 'revised' list of some of them.
Murray was named after the dog (Murray) on 'Mad About You' since the dog quite often chases an invisible mouse. Murray's full name is Murray, Get The Mouse. lol
Let's see
Mercedes, since I've always wanted one but can't afford one. I thought I would never have a retic, so I felt it fit.
Evan, because his 'wife's' name is Eve
Matea, from the movie 'Anaconda' one of the charactors was Mateo, I femininized it for a female anery corn.
Spirit, Luec, TX rat snake, because she is white and 'spirited' (read that as aggressive lol)
Boo, for the ghost marking on her head.
Liberty, CA boa, best I can figure, she was born about the time of the WTC disaster.
Lady Val, my Valentine's Day/Anniversary present.
Powder, snow corn, came named already.
Tarzan, CA boa, he's always in his 'tree'
and for some of the dogs:
Duncan, means dark complected warrior, his registered name is Greystone's Striking Knight and he's black. (thought it fit)
Chatter, because she talks back to me
Wishes, full name 'Los Pinos Wishes Come True (my first show dog, wanted one for years)
Two of my dogs registered names have the word 'strike' it them somehow, their father ws CH Los Pinos Strike It Silver, he was one of my favorite dogs ever. So I named his pups after him (He was killed a week before they were born )
Pony, Gt Dane - HUGE
Trinket, actually, Greystone's Tell-Tale Heart (E.A.Poe) named for the black patch on her chest about where her heart would be.
Hannibal, polydactyl cat, in the book, Hannibal, Dr. Lecter was a polydactyl (1 extra finger on his left hand, surgically removed)
Even my kids were named for someone, my oldest JoAnna Leslie - my dad's name is Joe, mom's middle name is Anna, my name is Lisa and my hubby is Wesley. Laurie, my youngest was named after my best friend Laurie, who was hit and killed by a drunk driver.
Hmmm, I think that's about it for now, if I remember more, I will post them
(so much for the shortened list, huh? )

Well, our cat is named "Moe." She's called Moe because her owner as a kitten named her in Thai, "Mamonakaba," whick we thought was too long.
Our brb is "Henrietta," because we liked the name.
Our male bci is "Baby," because that's what his first owners called him.
Our female bci is "Big Noodle," because that's what she reminds us of.

I like to get my names either from cities in the species home range, or mythology of that region.
This is a great page for names. Here's my list:
1.1 het albino balls-Aida Wedo and Damballah Wedo-African snake gods
.1 ball-Teshi, a city in Ghana
male BCI- Bochica-supreme sun god
female BCI- Beru- butterfly demon
female BCI-Ina-dolphin goddess
male argentine boa- Micah- named by previous owner
male Beardie-Grunthor-from a book
female panther chameleon-Merli-from tv show American Gothic
1.2 leaftails-Darien, Claire, and Alex, from sci fi channel's Invisible Man
My leopard geckos are mostly computer names, because my first leo was named Byte because her cage was by the computer. My current leos are Meg and Amiga (girls), and Dell and Banana (boys.) Banana was named by my son who was 2 when I got the gecko.

My boas and pythons all have Squeezer names
Julius Squeezer is my 4 foot burm's name
Octavius Squeezer - 6 1/2 foot Labrynith Burm
Claudius Squeezer - 4 1/2 foot BCI
Augustus Squeezer - baby BCI (from Morti)
The female BCIs are Cleopatra, Rae, and Delia
Tokay gecko's name is Brutus
My female Emerald Tree boa's name is Esmerelda...I named her that at first because it is an anagram of emeralds but then found out later that the name derived from the spanish word (esmeralda) meaning emerald.
Tiki my GTP came already named by constrictorBO and I like the name so it stuck.
Aya came prenamed by Rachel and it stuck too.
My adult female amazon's name is Ursula....named after the evil sea witch in Little Mermaid.
My adult Male amazon's name is Ol' Staplegun. Put your hand in his cage and find out where he got that name
My Bullsnake's names are Maybelle (she should be called a cowsnake in my oppinion) and Ben (named after a bull that I made friends with on a farm when I was a kid)
My mexican Tiger Ratsnake's name is Pedro
My copperhead's name is Abraham Lincoln
I still have several snakes with no names yet I was all set up to name the yellow ratsnake Ol Yeller....but he came in and turned out to be a she...so I am still trying to think of a name for a female yellow snake.
I don't have any cats but if I did....I would name them names like... kung pao cat or mu shu kitty.....maybe dimsum.

Well since we have kids we usually stay with the Disney theme. For instance our boas are named Razha, Abu, Jasmine, Kovu, Kira. We use other names too such as Sonya, Katana, Cash, our son named his Ball Python Squirtle after some pokemon character.

My Ball Python is Mehen (was Qetesh, Godess of love and beauty, until I found out she was a HE!) and my Argentine boa is Apophis.
The story goes like this: In ancient Egyptian mythology, Apophis (serpent God) was jealous of Ra (sun God and most powerful). Apophis attacked Ra. Mehen (another serpent God) came to Ra's defense.
What's funny is that my mother thinks I named Apophis after the character in Stargate SG1....she wants to know how I'm going to fit a metal face plate to him since the character now has one! And people wonder where I get my sick sense of humor....hehehehehe

My first BRBs name was Valasca, which is the name of an amazon warrior queen who liked to remove the tongues and thumbs of her male captives to render them useless.
My second BRB's name is Wyrsa, which is this serpent canine cross monster/demon thing in the Valdemar series by Mercedes Lackey. What can I say, the snake just reminds me of a hairless silent puppy dog
One of the cockatiels I gave away before leaving for college is named Kukulkan, which is another name for Quetzocoatl, the feathered serpent god of Aztec mythology. Kukulkan was the name of the feathered serpent god of one of the tribes the Aztec's absorbed.
Another of those cockatiels is named Goldilox, because she's all yellow and has salmon colored patches on her cheeks (her orange wasn't so bright).
My third cockatiel is named Zhaniel, also from the Valdemar series by Mercedes Lackey.
My brother's cockatiel was named Cirrus, for the clouds.
One of my cats is named Blackbeard, because he has a white chin, except for this little black go-ti stripe.
Another of my cats is Cleocatra, because when she sits she looks like an Egyptian sphinx statue.
Another's name is Maya, because she adopted us when she was having a litter of kittens and Maya means 'good mother' is whatever language they use to name the dinosaurs.
My two black furry cats are named Mana and Spice. Spice is named after a horse of the same color my brother liked and Mana is named after that card game, Magic: The Gathering.
reptilemama -- I used that website to look up names, too!
ldydrgn -- Mehen is one of the names on the list of possible names for a new snake I compiled.
