Now that we're getting to know what everyone's favorite other boas are. What are your 3 favorite pythons? Mine would have to be Jungle Carpets, Balls, and Red Bloods.[addsig]

Burms!!!!Or any of the Indian rock Pythons
Green Tree Pythons
for 3rd place its a tie between ringed pythons and blackheaded pythons
Retics are impressive but have never been a favorite of mine. I dunno what it is about em..their length doesn't seem to match their lack of body weight. They look kinda scrawny to me untill they are full grown and often overfed.

Burms, oh yeah. I forgot Burms. Are the Indian Rock Pythons the same thing as Ceylonese Pythons ( Python molurus pimbura)? Do you keep any burms, Julius? Let me know if you do, I'm kinda tempted to get one.[addsig]

Indian Rock Python is Python molurus molurus Burmese Python is Python molurus bivittatus and is the largest subspecies of Indian Rock Pythons. Ceylonese Pythons Python Molurus Pimbura is another subspecies found on the Island of Sri Lanka off the coast of India in the Indian Ocean. Sri Lanka was formerly known as Ceylon and still is today by many people.

What would you say is the smallest one? The Pimbura is the smallest and most commonly seen in capitvity of the P. molurus subspecies that I know of.[addsig]

Okay, I was just wondering if you knew of any other P. molurus subspecies. And yeah, I'm not too crazy about Children's Pythons, I hear they eat human children on a regular basis. Especially those w/ mothers named Lori. *chuckling* JK Lori... no offense...[addsig]

lol....doesn't really matter..any indian rock python on the pet market in the US is usually called a Burmese python unless you get one from a breeder that knows his stuff. And even then it's iffy at best.

Alright, thanks man. I thought that would be the case, especially w/ the others having similar markings to burms. By the way, you never answered my question, do you own any burms?[addsig]

Does Monty Python count?
Black-Headed Python (Aspidites Melanocephalus) are really beautiful, but are too expensive for me. GTP's are cool looking, as are Indian Rock Pythons (Python molurus molurus). Bloods are nice, too. I don't find children's pythons all that attractive though.
Baby Indian Rock Python, awwwwwww cute aren't they. [addsig]

Yah Bry I have a 4 foot male that seems to be everyones favorite around here and also...his name is Julius Squeezer hehe. He has the best disposition of any snake I own with a really close second to Claudius Squeezer my adult male redtail. I like albinos ok I guess and around here they really don't cost anymore. But I love the contrast of the normals and I really see no reason to breed that out of them. Albinos are Kinda cool though. I just dont like to display an albino of anything without a normal for people to compare and I don't have any current plans to take in another snake that can grow as large as they do. At least they still have the girraffe looking markings. Ugh now I'm on another rant. I hate when people breed all the pretty out of snakes. Patternless amazons and Emeralds are more valuable as are patternless redtails...wtf? the markings are what makes these snakes...If you want a big ugly Brown Snake with no saddles...get a Taipan and maybe he will bite the stupid out of ya.

Did you say Bloods are nice? bahahaha maybe from afar...they are more grumpy than nippy though...most of the bloods I've been around give closed mouth warning strikes but really hate to be bothered. Ya can't help but love em though grumpy or not.

I have a real soft spot in my heart for ball pythons because a ball was my first "real" snake after I kept garters. For a favorite though, I gotta say chondros, closely followed by jungle carpets.[addsig]

Favorite.. it's a tie between Womas and
Black headed pythons... I plan on getting
a pair of one or the other in a year or two
(or three... lol they are so expensive)...
I guess my 3rd fav would be GTP... although I
have never owned or handled one so maybe
my tune would change once I did. lol
Bloods are goregous but look like big fat
sausages... burms and retics are beautiful
too but just get way too big for me! Fun
question!

I am fairly equally excited about any snake other than garter snakes, ringnecks, brownsnakes.....comon lil bug eaters...I dunno...good kingsnake food I guess. Australia has unlimited cool pythons....They are finding in one tiny little area a single population of roughscaled pythons....I saw this on Mark O'shea. They have 2 pairs in captivity now and they are the only known keeled scaled pythons in the world and obviously very rare. I like the oddballs...whitelipped, blackheaded, ringed, roughscaled....anything unusual.
